MCSync Setup Guide (Discord)
Welcome to the MCSync setup guide. Follow these steps to get the Discord bot up and running in your server.
1. Adding the MCSync Bot to Your Discord Server
To start, invite the MCSync bot to your Discord server using the invitation link provided in your dashboard or by following these steps:
- Go to the bot’s invitation link.
- Select the Discord server where you want to add MCSync.
- Grant the necessary permissions to the bot, then click Authorize.
Once the bot is added, you should see it in your server’s member list.
2. Enabling Twitch Integration
After adding the bot to your server, you'll need to ensure Twitch Integration is enabled for your Discord Server.
To check if Integration is enabled, follow the steps below.
1. Go to your server Settings ➡️ Apps ➡️ Integrations
2. Click on Twitch, then Enable
3. Running the /setup Command
After adding the bot to your server, you’ll need to run the /setup
command to initialize the bot in your server’s environment.
- Type
/setup
in any text channel where the bot has access. - The bot will add your server to the MCSync database and generate an API token for your account.
- This token will be used to authenticate MCSync requests for your server.
4. Using the /roles Command
The /roles
command is optional and only needed if the bot fails to detect the default Twitch Integration Roles in your Discord server.
- If the default roles are not detected, type
/roles
in any text channel with bot access. - After running the command, you will be prompted to select which Discord Roles pertain to which Subscriber Tier.
Note: If the default channels are detected, you won’t need to use this command.
